Kumho unveils new all-season tires Solus TA31
Korean Kumho officially unveiled new all-season tires Kumho Solus TA31, which have already been approved to complete the mid-sized Chrysler 200 sedan
A kumho solus ta31 review statement said that the new tires, which are expected to reach the secondary US market in June of this year, belong to the High Performance class and combine low noise, high mileage and improved ride. For this reason, the American Tire Rack ranked the new Kumho as a Grand Touring class tire.
The tread block layout was optimized for noise reduction, and the tread rigidity was increased for better handling and braking performance on a dry surface. Kumho's internal tests showed that on dry asphalt the braking distance of the new product is about 2 meters shorter than that of competitors. Four wide longitudinal grooves, as well as numerous small grooves that improve the drainage of water, are responsible for the increase in wet grip. In addition, the compound of the new generation allowed to significantly extend the life.
Kumho notes that new tires in the amount of 235/45 R18 are already included in the Chrysler 200 package, presented at the North American International Salon this year. The new mid-size sedan is made at the Chrysler plant in Sterling Heights (Michigan, USA). Kumho Solus TA31 in several sizes is also approved for Kia Soul equipment.
As noted by Park Dong Ju, director of the Kumho passenger tire development department, compared to previous models, the Kumho Solus TA31 has improved in terms of such characteristics as comfort, durability, handling, and fuel efficiency, some of these parameters were improved immediately by 10%. “I’m sure that this new premium model will allow us to accelerate our development both domestically and internationally,” he added.
Kumho Solus TA31 will be available in 39 sizes with diameters from 14 to 18 inches.

How much is this bike that is the most expensive of the Tour de France?
Designed by the Italian Pinarello, the bike of the Sky team, the team of Christopher Froome, costs 15,000 euros. A race bike salesman tells us why he is so expensive.
337 euros. This is the average price paid by bicycle buyers in France in 2016. A figure that has been rising in recent years (it was 306 euros in 2014), but still far from the price paid by the Germans (500 euros) or the Dutch (750 euros). But this is the bulk of the market. As in the automobile, the bike world has its "Clio" and "Ferrari". And it is obviously on the Tour de France that we find these exceptional cycles.
In 2017 it is the Sky team, that of the defending champion Christopher Froome, who puts at the disposal of his riders the most expensive bike of the pack. According to Cycle magazine , the two-wheeler in question costs a staggering 15,000 euros. It is designed by the Italian company Pinarello, a brand created in the 1950s and bought in 2016 by the LVMH investment fund. A small company with just 50 employees that produces no more than 30,000 bicycles a year for a turnover of 52 million euros. If the bike is designed and assembled by the Italian company, the carbon fiber frame - the main piece of the bike - is made in China according to a very precise specification.
Regarded as the Ferrari of the cycle, Pinarello has not less than 13 Tours de France to his name. In addition to Chris Froome, it is among others Bradley Wiggins, Jan Ullrich, Bjarne Riis or Miguel Indurain who rolled on Pinarello.
But why are these exceptional bikes so expensive? What distinguishes this Pinarello Dogma F10 from Christopher Froome from a good race bike sold by Decathlon for example? This is what explains Alexandre Barodon, owner of the store and the FreeCycle.fr sales site .
The carbon fiber frame: 5000 euros
The frame is the main price of these exceptional bikes. "A good third of the overall price, according to Alexandre Barodon.First because the carbon fiber used is exceptional. The important thing is to reduce the weight by removing the resin that binds together the molecules of coal. It is the Japanese brand Toray that uses nanotechnologies to produce a light and strong carbon fiber, the one used in the aerospace industry. Result: it weighs only 820 grams, 500 grams less than a Macbook Air! It takes 2 kg for a frame of equivalent size on a Decathlon bike.
"The frame material must transmit the energy and not absorb it, says Alexandre Barodon, so we need materials both very light and extremely resistant."
